Pet Stains and Odors
Pet Odors
There is a difference between cleaning the urine soiling and treating for odor. Just cleaning
the urine spots may not remove any associated bacteria or the odor. In fact, cleaning alone could
increase the odor in the air space for a temporary period of time.
We have specific processes for treating the bacteria and thus the odor associated with “pet
accidents” on your wall-to-wall carpeting. This treatment is very thorough and will eliminate
most or even all of the bacteria in most cases, as well as the offensive odor. For heavy urine
contamination, we may recommend a 3-Layer Odor Treatment which involves treating the backing of
the carpet, replacing the padding, and treating the sub floor. This treatment is absolutely
guaranteed to eliminate all odors as well as any associated bacteria.

… and those Yellow Urine Stains?
We have specific processes for treating pet stains that achieve excellent results in neutralizing
yellow pet urine stains. But beware: Pet urine can cause permanent stains on your carpeting and
fabrics! The urine is initially in a slightly acidic state — it is easier to clean when fresh.
Once it dries, it turns alkaline and becomes much more difficult to remove.
If left for days or weeks, urine can permanently change the dye structure, causing dye loss or
a bleaching effect, which results in permanent staining. Even if the soluble deposits are removed,
the damage to the dye structure may already be done. This means that no one can guarantee
complete removal of all urine spots. Make sure to clean up pet urine quickly or schedule a
professional cleaning as soon as possible.
